Julian Daubrawa

Systems engineer in the navigation sector at EADS Astrium

"No panic to face mathematics and physics - and not at all to cope new problems", according to Julian Daubrawa, this builds the best precondition to choose studies in geodesy. Sharing this opinion and facing the good career perspectives, he decided to study geodesy after school.

Today Julian Daubrawa says the following about his time as student at the University of Stuttgart:"The family atmosphere among the students and the straightforward contact to professors and scientific assistants builds up a big advantage for studies of geodesy and geoinformatics". These facts were helpful for him concerning preparation of exams and comprehension of course contents.

Today Julian is working as systems engineer in the navigation sector at EADS Astrium which is a subsidiary company of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS. It is specialized on civil and military aeronautic systems. It is Julian Daubrawa's task to analyze and adjust the new GPS-data which is sent from GPS-satellites. Among others, the data is received by a new GPS-receiver on the top of the Astrium- company building in Ottobrunn near Munich. Shortly ago, Julian helped to build it up.

Due to the variety of projects which he cares for at EADS Astrium and the big potential which is - in Julian Daubrawas opinion - set in the future of satellite geodesy, there is no boring daily work life.
