Network data management at Mainova AG which is the leading energy service provider for the Rhein-Main region.

At a first glance, experts for the data acquisition of geo-informations do not have much in common with an energy service provider. But at Mainova AG they do work together.

To fulfill its tasks as leading energy service provider for the Rhein-Main region in a technical densely developed region, Mainova needs to require a professional network data management. In the ¨Mainova Geographical Net Information System¨ (MaG-NIS), one of Mainova's subsidiaries, NRM Netzdienste Rhein-Main GmbH is responsible for that since it offers digital access to the cable- and piping data. Sector crossing information referring to the position of cable- and piping nets and technical data like year of construction and dimension can be obtained from the Net Information System (NIS). Corresponding to this, the employee's qualifications are varied and high. They cover technical surveyors, engineers with Diploma, Bachelor or Master of different geo-information studies or surveying assessors with the final degree second state examination.

The range of requirements covers knowledge of georeferencing and modern recording systems as well as counseling during construction, support of data in NIS and network analysis. Additionally an in-depth knowledge about geo based data and provisions of law in terms of the energy sector, property law together with economic foundations and quality management is required.

Beside the network data management, one has to work in operational areas like planning, business and real estate.

The atmosphere during working for NRM is marked by an intensive exchange in projects and in daily business. Accordingly the employees need to be able to cover entrepreneurial thinking and teamwork apart from the subject-specific requirements.
